Christmas Break Adventures

Dear Class,

Do you like this photo? I took it from my airplane seat yesterday. We were one of the lucky ones to leave Sea-Tac airport. On Sunday night, our flight got cancelled so we drove home and tried again on Monday morning. They had to book us in first class since those were the only 2 seats available. We felt so lucky!! We flew to Denver and then flew on stand-by to Great Falls, Montana. Again, we had a travel angel looking out for us because there were 12 stand-by passengers that wanted to get on that flight and we were the only 2 stand-by passengers that were able to make it. They kept calling for 2 other passengers that never showed up, so it worked out in our favor. Great Falls is pretty chilly! There's snow on the ground, but not near as much as Seattle. I would love for you all to share your holiday adventures with us. It's fun to stay in touch even though we're all doing our own thing.

Abigail, thanks for saying I'm like Rachael Ray. Believe it or not, I once wrote an e-mail to her (before she was really famous) and told her I thought we'd get along great since we're both Italian and love to cook. She never wrote me back :-( I am one of her biggest fans, though, so it's funny you mentioned her in your blog.

Love,

Ms. Gessner

Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas...
Hey class! Merry Christmas (well, really Boxing Day)!! Yesterday was so much fun! I woke up at 3:00 A.M. (I thought it was 5:00, though) and I remembered it was Christmas. If my Mom and Dad hadn't made a deal that we could only come out of our room at 6:30 with them, I would have come out for a sneak peak to look at my presents.
It sounds like Ms. Gessner was quite lucky on her trip (my Dad just showed me some pictures about how snowy it was in Seattle and how Seatac airport had cancelled most of there flights and how people were sleeping on the ground with their bags). I'm glad that you made it to Montana, Ms. Gessner! I hope all of you are safe with all the snow! Whenever we tell people that we are from Seattle they start talking about how unusually snowy it is there.
Today was my last day on Maui. Tomorrow I will leave at 9:00 for the ferry that will take us to Lanai. I just finished packing my backpack, but with all the gifts I got for Christmas my Mom and Dad had to pack some. It's dinner time now so goodbye! See you in the New Year! ~ Madi

Hi class! Thank you to Madi and Abigail for writing on the blog. I got back from Montana two nights ago. Madison, did you return safely from Hawaii? Abigail, I have seen the "Sound of Music" more than once. Did you like the music? I've even been lucky enough to visit the countryside in Austria where much of the movie takes place.

Hope everyone is doing well? What is everyone's New Year's Eve plans?

Hello Class-

Hope all of you good christmas. I like war movies especially World War 2. We saw Valkyrie, and it is about German soldiers trying to kill Hitler. It was a good movie. The sound of music was during this war.

We are going to have a party at my house tomorrow. I have to go play X-Box with my brother and a friend. Ms. Gessner welcome back. Hope you had a nice time in Montana.

Wish all of you a Happy New Year. See you next year.

Andrew

Thanks Ms. Gessner, I haven't gone home yet, but I've changed islands, and now I'm on Lanai. It was a fun boat ride over here.
Abigail, do you know what? I watched five minutes of The Sound of Music last night (before we had to leave for dinner) and, like Ms. Gessner, I've seen it before. I really liked it too. I just came back from searching for whales and spinner dolphins. We saw 2 or 3 whales and so many dolphins that there probably would have been at least one of them for every single student at St. Francis!
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve. I can't wait to hear about all your adventures!

Happy New Year's Eve class!

Julia asked me if we are still doing Christmas carols for the Franciscans and whether or not we will have our class Christmas party. We'll be doing both events next Tuesday, January 6th, in the afternoon.

Hope all of you are doing well. Who is going to stay up until midnight tonight?

See you next year!
