Question of the Week #23

Dear class,
Write about your spring break. I'll be in Anaheim, CA for a teacher's workshop. For three days, I'll be learning new and interesting ways to teach you. Anaheim is the city where Disneyland is located. If I see Mickey or Minnie Mouse, I'll tell them "hi" for you!

What have you been doing for spring break?

How is your break going?

Where have you been?

Have fun and be safe everyone!

Question of the Week #22

Dear class,

Welcome to Holy Week! This is a special time for Christians everywhere to remember how Jesus lived, died and rose from the dead (resurrected). On Thursday, we'll celebrate the life of Jesus as He shared in the last supper with His apostles. On Friday, we'll honor His death with a Good Friday service at school. Over the weekend, I strongly encourage you to go to church to celebrate Jesus' rising for Easter. This week's question is worth 2 extra credit points for a religion grade if you provide a thoughtful answer.

Why do you think Jesus chose to die? Why didn't He save himself?

I wish all of you a wonderful spring vacation and blessed spring break.

Question of the Week #19

Dear class,

On Tuesday, we will celebrate St. Patrick's Day by singing Irish songs to the residents at the Franciscan Apartments across the street. St. Patrick was a real man at one time. To read more about him, go to: http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=89

We usually think of feeling lucky on St. Patrick's Day. This week's question is:

Describe a time when you felt lucky. What happened? Who else was part of it? Do you believe in good luck charms?

Thoughtful answer will receive 2 extra credit points toward their English grade. Good luck!

Question of the Week #17

Dear class,

Every year, women around the world are recognized on March 8th for "International Women's Day." In Italy, little yellow flowers (called mimosa) are given out on many street corners to women as a way to say thank you. For this week's blog, think of a woman who has touched your life. This can be your mom, grandma, neighbor, etc. Write about how this woman has stood out to you. Thoughtful responses written by Friday, March 6th, will receive 2 extra credit points for their English grade. Remember to check your work for mistakes.
