Dear class,
Welcome to Holy Week! This is a special time for Christians everywhere to remember how Jesus lived, died and rose from the dead (resurrected). On Thursday, we'll celebrate the life of Jesus as He shared in the last supper with His apostles. On Friday, we'll honor His death with a Good Friday service at school. Over the weekend, I strongly encourage you to go to church to celebrate Jesus' rising for Easter. This week's question is worth 2 extra credit points for a religion grade if you provide a thoughtful answer.
Why do you think Jesus chose to die? Why didn't He save himself?

I think Jesus died for our sins and to save us.I also think He died so tht we don't have to suffer and be poor like Jesus.
I think He didn't save himself because he wanted us to live free, and don't have to be treated unfairlly.

Jesus chose to die so we could be forgiven for our sins. When He died our sins died with Him. In the Bible many people were sinners during the time Jesus was alive. He also died so we would be free and would not suffer.
Jesus did not save himself because He loves us so much and so He could be with us in Heaven and take care of us. It was God's plan to let Jesus die so all of our sins would be forgiven.

I think Jesus chose to die because he knew he had to.I also think he died to show that when He died our sins would die to.He was done teaching everyone about God. He knew that Pontius Pilate didn't want Jesus to die.I think that when we will be in Heaven He would be there with us.He didn't want us to suffer. by Celia
I think Jesus died so that He would wash away our sins. I also think He died so that we think about Him when we are about to do something mean to someone or something that way we think of Jesus suffering.
I think Jesus didn't save Himself because He is full of love. Also because Jesus was thinking what was best for us. Jesus never thinks of just Himself. He alway is thinking of us and He is always with us even when we're dead.

I think Jesus chose to die so that our sins would be forgiven. He did a very Holy thing. He chose to preach to the people about God and He chose to not fight when the soldiers took him away so He could be crucified. Jesus sacrificed His life for our sins, so that we could understand how important God is. He made sure that we knew how special God is; and that we worshiped Him with respect. Jesus made a very hard decision for a human. He is our savior.
I think Jesus didn't save himself because He knew that if He did we would still not know truly what God sent Him to earth for. We would still sin a lot more than we do now. Jesus had a mission to save us. He wasn't going to fail that mission!

I think Jesus died on the cross for us to save us. He died so we didn't have to feel his pain. I think he didn't save himself because He didn't want us to suffer and so he could meet his father in heaven.LOVE ADAM!!!!!!!!!!
I think Jesus died on the cross for us, and for our sins to be forgiven.I think he did not try to save himself so that he could have our sins be forgiven and because he loves us. The reason I think Jesus died was so he could save us from our sins, and so he could show us that it's ok to sacrifice (help).
The reason I think Jesus didn't save Himself was because that was what His Father (God) told him He had to do, and because He loved us.

I think Jesus chose to die so all the people don't have to die.
Jesus didn't save himself because he can teach people about God and so he can open up the gates for everyone who believes.
