Dear class,
For this week's blog, write a letter to a 2nd grader who will be going into third grade next year. Address the letter, "Dear New Third Grader." Tell the third grader what they can expect to happen in third grade. What are some of the topics we cover? What projects will they be doing? What will be challenging? What will be fun? What will be something new that they haven't probably learned before? Thoughtful responses written by Friday, May 22nd, will receive 2 extra credit points toward their English grade.

Dear new third grader,
You will have to learn multiplication and a little bit of division. you will also learn geomertry once you get the hang of it, it will be easy. Some progets you will be doing are making a card for someone in the navy or marens ect.You will also make geomertry shapes out of toothpicks and marshmellows.
ps.There is going to be a new teacher What if she/he does different stuff?
LOVE CIERA
Dear New Third Grader,
In third grade you will learn bigger multiplication facts like 9x8. You will also learn the five parts of a letter. You will be doing animal reports and cursive. Third grade will be kind of challenging at first, but very fun. You might even get to go over to the Franciscan Apartments and sing Christmas carols there. You'll have another teacher than Ms. Gessner, so you probably won't have the big cheese or the Italian word of the week. Have fun in third grade!

Dear New Third Grader,
There is a lot of things to accomplish in third grade! You would have to do an animal report and learn new math facts. One of the best things in third grade is that you get to watch "School House Rock" to learn your math facts. Two challenging things you have to do are Mountain Math and Mountain Languge. They make you think really hard but they can be fun too because you have to find numbers and do ABC order. Something new would be multiplication and division. You'll be going to the Franciscan Apartments to sing or deliver treats. At Christmas, you get to have a Christmas party! At the end of the year, you'll have the end of the year tests.
There are many more things to expect in third grade like learning about the moon, The Rosary and cursive writing. I hope you will enjoy being in third grade because I did!
Future Fourth Grader,
Abigail #1
P.S. You might not have all the things that I'm talking about because there's going to be a new teacher.
Sorry, I mispelled the word "language". This is the correct spelling. I didn't see it even though I read my letter twice.

Dear New Third Grader,
There are many fun and interesting projects in third grade. I think that the best one so far is the animal report. I am very excited to do my oral presentation. It was so cool to type our written report and create a cover page on the computer! I am looking forward to studying our animals on our field trip to Northwest Trek.
In third grade, you will also learn how to do multiplication and division. You will be taught some geometry too, but definitely not every kind. Like last year, you will have rocket math. That might be a little challenging, but it's great practicing in pairs.
Another topic is learning the parts of a letter. That will be fun, and you might be able to practice by writing to your Italian and Japanese pen pals. They write back, too!
There are some challenging tests, but don't worry about them! You'll be ready.
Most of all, THIRD GRADE IS FUN, COOL, EXCITING,AND AWESOME. Enjoy it!
Sincerely,
Madison
Dear new third grader,
Hello, this is Tori. In 3rd grade you will learn MANY new things. You will go over addition and subbtraction and learn multiplication. You will learn some geomertry. After like I dont know it is different for everyone but after a little bit you will get used to all the new stuff and the new classroom. One of the biggest things in 3rd grade is the animal report. You will look up facts about an animal and write notecards. After that you will type the whole thing. After that you will make a poster or a sculpture or somthing that only you made about your animal. I hope you do well. But there is one catch you have to present your poster or what you made to the class and they will take notes. While the other people show you their report you will take notes. I hope that I gave you some tips! I hope you enjot 3rd grade like I did. Love, your good friend
Tori! Bye Bye new 3rd grader! CONGRATULATIONS!
Oh. p.s. You might not do some of those things becuase there is going to be a new teacher. Sorry!
Oh. p.s. again! I spelled enjot I meant enjoy. Sorry.
Dear New Third Grader,
You will find third grade to be harder then second grade. I think you should remember to always pay attention because you will be learning lots of new things like geometry and how to write a report. You will be getting a new teacher so things may be totally different. Good Luck. Colten

Dear New Third Grader,
This year you will be learning a lot in math like geometry, multiplication, and a little division. There will be many new prayers that you learn like The Memorary and The Apostles Creed. In spelling you will have to learn the word antidisestablishmentarianism. At the end of the year you will have an animal report. It may seem pretty hard at first but trust me it's really fun to do...unless you don't like school. On almost the last day of school you get to go to Northwest Trek to see your animal. My animal was the mountain goat.Ok I know my animal Dosen't sound very cool but it has some really cool facts like it can run, jump, and maybe even climb when it's one day old.Well I guess I'm done.

Future Fourth Grader,
